“Gross-to-Fine“
A recent RiderCoach Preparation Course (RCP) has started me thinking more profoundly about the Gross-to-Fine relationship of RiderCoach Learning. Although a term mainly associated with Motor Skill Development, it could also represent our journey as Coaches, trying to develop the fine details necessary to help without overwhelming our students with minutia.
Some Lead-in questions to ponder:
- What is the Gross Knowledge necessary to teach students?
- What is the Fine Knowledge required to teach students?
- Do you know where we should use either?
- What was the most useful thing you learned this week?
