Tribe Talk – 24 January 2021

Hong Zhang from the Snell Memorial Foundation discusses Snell Standards and Research for Better Protection.

It is important to note the following based on input from Ms. Zhang on the conversations in the video: Snell testing shows no difference between how much identical helmets with and without MIPS system move or shift more independently upon impact. Although this conclusion from Snell could be the result of the different test protocols and instrumentation used in different labs, everyone should be assured that helmets with MIPS system do not perform differently in impact protection when tested to Snell standards. In other words, impact protection in Snell certified helmets remain the same with or without the MIPS system.

As an integral part, we want to improve our model as RiderCoaches, with more in-depth education and learning abilities than we ask of our students.
