Rider Choices completed a traditional on-site Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) RiderCoach Preparation Course for Service Members at Fort Carson, Colorado and the 10th Special Forces Group from 11-17 April 2023. The Seven-day 56+ Hour course included pre-course assignments and three rounds of classroom and range peer teaching to expose RiderCoaches fully to the intricacies of presenting the MSF Basic RiderCourse (BRC).
The MSF BRC includes three variations and can be a Two, Three, or Four-day course, dependent upon the organization and schedule. The BRC supports Basic Rider Skills and helps with personal risk assessment, Behavioral components, and Motor Skill Development. It includes an eCourse and classroom segments with fun interactive activities to improve perception and hazard awareness, while range exercises enhance basic operating and crash-avoidance skills. Improving student responsibility to use street strategies is emphasized. The course is beneficial for riders on any street motorcycle.
The RiderCoaches certified provided feedback that they learned how to conduct the course and became better riders simultaneously. Big THANKS to Chris Horton and Pikes Peak Harley Davidson for providing a location and equipment for these events. Also, a shout-out to Belinda Koch for stopping by!
