Eyes should continually Scan to identify hazards before they become dangerous. Using the Search Evaluate Execute (SEE) strategy to look for hazardous Factors also increases your ability to find an Escape Path if a hazard exists.

Humans are creatures of habit, so building the search “habit” helps prioritize what’s important – including potential Escape Paths. Staring at an object too long can fix our attention, causing us to miss other hazards or possible escape paths.

A good scan provides the ability to respond to dangerous situations – before we must react for crash prevention.
